There were areas in SA far away from roads, towns and cities giving you a great sense of isolation (whereas in V you're always quite close to roads and towns) Back O' Beyond & Shady Creeks were perfect examples of this👍 Yeah, SA was definitely more interesting to explore. Hope that wasn't too much of a chore to read and you found something at least somewhat interesting in there, It's still the best GTA to me 👍 Expect the unexpected, this isn't ANYTHING like III & VC, so buckle up and prepare for the crazy adventure CJ is about to embark on. Moments like these truly set it apart from past games. Chiliad was quite a shock as well, "What?! a goddamned MOUNTAIN in a GTA game?" Meeting 'The Truth' was a weird moment, because I never expected to encounter a hippy character.
I never explored Red County before that point, so i didn't know this game included countryside and small towns. You feel so helpless and you're in a place so "alien" and far away from Los Santos.
One memory I was particularly fond of, was when CJ gets dropped off in Whetstone by Tenpenny & Pulaski. It was so different from previous GTA's like VC & III that focused on mafia style characters and themes, but it was fascinating to explore a different aspect of the criminal world. One of the first memories of this game i remember, is my friend telling me: "There is nothing but black characters in this game, and it focuses a lot on street gangs" He wasn't racist (he finished the game, so he had to have enjoyed it) guess he was just a little surprised by the style of the game compared to previous GTA's.
